Introducing the new Roush modular hardware platform, LapDAQ-M!
The new platform allows our most popular applications to run on one single hardware platform. This modular platform can be configured for use with our BrakeDAQ, VeDyan, FPAS Portable, R-LO and several other applications. The hardware platform is based on standard USB 2.0 architecture and can be easily expanded with the simplicity of adding a typical USB device. The platform offers high speed data acquisition for analog input (1MS/s aggregate scan rate), and 50 kS/s/channel for Dynamic Analog Input channels. Now you can purchase one system that could possibly cover all of your testing requirements in one package. This system is well suited for Data Acquisition and Control applications and offers extended hardware modules to accommodate control/interface requirements. One single layer can accommodate a combination of 16 Analog Inputs channels of various types and can be configured by the end user (TC, Strain, Voltage, Current, Resistance, Frequency, and more), Two Analog Outputs, Two CAN Devices (for vehicle or other communications), 8 DIO channels, and Two counter inputs. Several other modules are available for High Speed Dynamic Signal Acquisition, Counter Input, DIO and more. Several Layers can be added together to expand the channel count that is only limited by what the bus speed and computer can handle.
Vehicle Dynamics
Roush is an all-in-one provider of vehicle dynamics test tools, training, consulting, and testing services. Roush offers a Vehicle Dynamics test system that provides data acquisition, data review, post processing, and reporting in one package. A LabVIEW-based software application is provided to address general purpose and vehicle dynamics specific testing and post processing. The application provides an intuitive graphical user interface for test setup, execution, monitoring, and logging. The vehicle dynamics post processing software suite allows you to visualize, analyze, and report all of your test data. Individual sensors or sensor packages are also available, with cabling and custom connectivity options. The hardware package provides an expandable USB based data acquisition system that can be configured per channel for input and connectivity allowing thermocouple, Voltage, Strain Gage, Potentiometers, Current, and several other inputs types. The input type can be configured by selecting an appropriate signal conditioning module, and connectivity input can be configured by selecting the appropriate panellette. Roush vehicle dynamics products are widely used for the following applications: automotive OEM engineering, automotive performance, vehicle dynamics analysis for accident reconstruction, and recreational vehicle testing and development.
Brake Testing
Over the last decade, Roush Industries has developed and maintained specialized Brake testing systems addressing brake noise, performance, and durability issues. Since 1996, BrakeDAQ, our flagship test tool for NVH and performance testing, has been employed by the automotive industry as part of the development cycle for design and validation, and post-production for troubleshooting. OEM automotive manufacturers and suppliers, including Roush's own internal testing services, use this tool extensively for Brake development, validation, and troubleshooting needs. Additionally, Roush offers several systems designed for Dynamometer testing, as well as a dedicated Brake Corrosion system to quickly simulate corrosion effects on Brake components and expose possible NVH, or failure issues. Roush data acquisition systems have also been incorporated in Brake DTV, judder, durability/mileage accumulation scenarios.
Portable and In-Vehicle Data Acquisition, and Signal Conditioning
Roush answers the call for a portable, flexible low-cost signal conditioning and data acquisition tool with LapDAQ. The system incorporates industry standard 5B, modular per-channel signal conditioning, and a unique panellette-based modular connectivity system. Each channel can be configured to condition any of the following options: thermocouples, RTD, frequency, analog voltage, millivolt, and strain gage, current signals. Higher channel counts can be obtained simply by stacking multiple units together. Digital input/output, counter, and Analog Output features are also accommodated. R-LO, a robust general-purpose data acquisition and logging software package, is bundled with LapDAQ to provide a complete data acquisition solution. Roush can supply a turn-key data acquisition system for your specific needs or a stand-alone LapDAQ signal-conditioning unit configured for your requirements.
End-of-Line Testers
End-of-line testers and component test systems are in high demand as technology-driven products requiring specialized testing have become commonplace. Roush has developed several End-of-line test systems specifically for automotive applications, as well as manufactured product applications. Our end-of-line seat testing system is currently used by several seat manufacturers for testing production seat assemblies.
Data Acquisition and Control Systems
Roush Industries has several custom automated data acquisition and control systems designed for laboratory, Dynamometer, and In-Vehicle use. In addition to conventional manual operation, select applications have the capability to run un-attended 24/7, automatically executing prescribed tests via a user-defined test matrix containing the test parameters and control variables. Several of the systems we have designed offer remote/web monitoring, and will contact personnel in the event of a fault or emergency shut down. Additionally in-vehicle applications are available that provide route/event recognition, hidden DAQ/Control with stand alone operation (no operator input required), auto start/shutdown, and GPS fleet location monitoring.
Roush Industries is actively seeking WorldWide Manufacturers Representatives for our Engineering Test Tools and related services. Please contact ETTSales@Roush.com for enquiries.
