Seat Testing
The end of line automotive seat testing system uses J1850 communication protocol
to query the seat controller and operate the seat control systems to validate communication
and functionality. End of Line seat testers can be made to support CAN, J1850 or
any other vehicle communication buss protocol.
This system performs a seat track functionality check on every end of line production
part at a customers’ facility. Utilizing National Instruments PXI hardware,
LabVIEW programming language and industry standard communication protocol (J1850),
this system controls seat track movement, and tests communication, lumbar adjustment,
heater control, recliner adjustment, and all wiring. Each seat track is assigned
a barcode via a printer, and each test result is logged into a central database.
FPAS – Fuel Pressure Analysis System
The Fuel Pressure Analysis System is used in testing fuel rails for the automotive
industry. FPAS is an automated Fuel Injector/Fuel rail assembly testing system.
The system cycles through tests operating the injectors via a driver network and
acquires Analog, and Dynamic data. FPAS includes real time functions that instantly
display relevant parameters as well as post processing utilities that create meaningful
reports allowing the user to analyze, and report problems quickly.
VHCT – Vehicle Horn Certification Test
The Vehicle Horn Certification Test System is required by several automotive manufacturers
to test horns for acceptable durability and quality under harsh conditions. The
VHCT system runs up to 24 horns concurrently through a test that consist of cherps,
nominals, long duty, and sound evaluation cycles that are designed to fully evaluate
the horn. The system controls and monitors temperature and humidity, changes sampling
rates based on cycle type, and drives the horns via a driver network. Sound, temperature,
voltage, and amperage are monitored for each horn allowing a group of horns to be
certified for purchase and use if they pass the manufacturers test.
SST – In Vehicle Starting System Tester
The in vehicle Starting System Tester was designed to take the place of out dated
strip chart recording systems typically used for extremely low temperature starting
system testing. The system can be quickly installed using a pre-instrumented vehicle
and carried in the vehicle by the test engineer. The system records data and windows
the test conditions to obtain a properly run test, data, analysis, and report allowing
a starting system to be tested and analyzed quickly in cold or hot environments.
