1976

JACK ROUSH PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING IS FORMED Jack forms Jack Roush Performance Engineering (JRPE). He subsequently moves to a new location with additional space for large-scale equipment needs, now Roush Industries Building 1. This building is still used today by Roush Industries.

1981

ECS IS FORMED In order to increase JRPE’s engineering capability and capacity, Jack Roush forms Engine & Control Systems (ECS) with ex-Ford Engineering Managers and long-time colleagues, Bob Corn and Ron Woodard. ECS receives EPA approval to begin emissions testing work.

1983

ROUSH RACING IS FORMED After an inconsistent Zakspeed partnership, Jack applies lessons learned to American road racing. His 1984 teams enter the SCCA Trans-Am and win 8 races, which helps Ford win the championship. They join IMSA and score a class win at the 1995 24 Hours of Daytona. This begins a period of dominance that is still unmatched.

1989

ECS MERGES WITH JRPE TO FORM ECS/ROUSH With a simple exchange of stock between the Principals, the names of the two affiliated yet separate enterprises are consolidated under the ECS/Roush banner to reflect the combined capabilities for ongoing and future projects.

1991

ECS/ROUSH BECOMES ROUSH INDUSTRIES In order to present a more cohesive and comprehensive image to customers, ECS/Roush leadership decides to merge the two companies under the singular umbrella of Roush Industries, capitalizing on the name recognition gained through racing successes.

1993

ROUSH ENTERS THE AEROSPACE MARKET Building on Jack’s lifelong passion for P-51 Mustangs, Roush enters the aerospace market and establishes Roush Aviation. Today, the aerospace team now powers innovation across multiple sectors, from advanced aircraft programs to supporting lunar exploration.

1996

ROUSH PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS IS FORMED After the development of Ford's 1994 SN95 Mustang platform, Roush Industries is positioned to satisfy any Mustang enthusiast’s “need for additional speed.” Roush Performance Products is formed — and the first Mustang vehicle package is available in early 1995.

1997

ROUSH WORKS ON FIRST EV PROJECT Roush Industries provides engineering support for the Ford Ranger EV, Ford’s first attempt at a modern electric vehicle. It would see a limited production run from 1998–2000.

2003

ROUSH YATES ENGINES IS FORMED After a phenomenal 2003 season for Roush Racing, two engine builders merge to form Roush Yates Engines (RYE) as Ford Racing’s NASCAR supplier. In the 2004 Daytona 500, RYE powers Biffle and Sadler to a front row sweep. RYE has since delivered 280+ wins across NASCAR, IMSA, and FIA.

2007

ROUSH FENWAY RACING PARTNERSHIP IS FORMED After years of evaluation, Jack Roush and John Henry (owner of the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool FC) pool resources to form Roush Fenway Racing. In year one, Carl Edwards wins the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series title. He also delivers RFR’s 100th Nextel Cup win at Dover in the fall.

2007

ROUSH ESTABLISHES ENTERTAINMENT DIVISION Roush brings its world-class engineering, prototyping, and manufacturing capabilities to a magical new market. The world’s leading theme park operators, including Universal Studios and Disney, start looking to Roush for the design and production of ride vehicles, animatronics, and more.

2009

ROUSH GOES TO SPACE Roush provides advanced engineering support for the propulsion system of ULA’s Vulcan rocket.

2010

ROUSH CLEANTECH IS FORMED To address growing demand for cleaner transportation solutions, Roush forms Roush CleanTech to design, develop, and manufacture cleaner-burning propane and CNG fuel systems for schools, municipal, and private fleet operations.

2012

ROUSH ENTERS AUTONOMY SPACE WITH GOOGLE FIREFLY Roush works with Google’s autonomous Firefly program to help advance self-driving vehicle technology. This milestone marks a pivotal step in applying Roush’s engineering expertise to intelligent, autonomous systems.

2022

ROUSH FENWAY KESELOWSKI RACING IS FORMED In 2021, Brad Keselowski joins the team as both a driver and co-owner, and pilots the famed No. 6 Ford Mustang in the NCS. With the ownership addition, the team rebrands its organization to Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing (RFK), combining three iconic names in Jack Roush, John Henry (Fenway), and Brad Keselowski.

2024

RCT HAS 50,000 VEHICLES ON THE ROAD In 2024, ROUSH CleanTech deployed the 50,000th advanced clean transportation vehicle on the road.

2025

ROUSH POWER SYSTEMS IS ESTABLISHED Roush Power Systems delivers reliable and efficient power systems that drive the future of performance, productivity, and sustainability. From the open highway to the hard-working jobsite, our systems enable customers to succeed in the most demanding environments.
