Roush’s support of Veterans starts at the top with Founder and Chairman, Jack Roush, and is part of the culture that makes Roush a great place to work. Jack’s commitment to honoring Veterans was strengthened through a
life-saving encounter with a retired Marine.
Transitioning from the military to civilian life can be a monumental challenge. Founded in 2013, our Roush VIP (Veterans Initiative Program) was created to support our military community, including Veterans, members of the Guard and Reserve, transitioning service members and military spouses, to help provide meaningful and lasting careers at Roush.
Because our country’s defense system invests so heavily in training, military personnel have a wide range of skills to offer. A two-way radio operator could work as an electronic technician. A wheeled vehicle technician could transition to a heavy-duty truck mechanic.
Beyond practical skills, service members shine in solving problems, working in collaboration with teams and leadership ability. At Roush, our successful employees have those same attributes, and we are committed to hiring Veterans, like you, who demonstrate these qualities.
We are proud partners with many great veteran organizations who support our nation’s heroes and regularly attend Veteran job fairs and visit military installations around the country in search of quality Veteran candidates. For our current serving National Guard and Reserve Component employees, Roush works with the
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) to support their current and future service.
Meet John Gardner, manager of Roush Veterans Initiatives Program. John served 24 years of active-duty service in the U.S. Air Force. He now works with the local and national veteran community to help transitioning military members and their spouses find fulfilling careers.
