Biography

Joe Thompson is the Group President, Roush Products. Thompson joined Roush in 1996. He became president of ROUSH CleanTech upon the group’s formation in 2010, and has become a nationally recognized expert in the fleet vehicle and propane fuel industries.

In 2004, Thompson was appointed vice president and general manager of Roush Performance. Under Mr. Thompson’s direction, ROUSH Performance became one of the premier brands in the automotive segment. He oversaw the company’s use of the internet as a growth strategy, contributing to their product offerings quadrupling with a sales increase of more than 500 percent.

As marketing manager, he was instrumental in establishing the company’s sales, distribution operations, dealership operations, supplier management, material planning, customer service, and business development strategies.

Under the guidance of Chairman Jack Roush and CEO Evan Lyall, Thompson was named the youngest vice-president in the history of Roush, and is also a member of the Roush Steering Committee, which shapes the future of the enterprise.

Prior to joining Roush, Thompson worked at Campbell & Company (Dearborn, Mich.), as an Account Executive dedicated to the Ford Racing and SVT accounts. Since he began his automotive career, Thompson has always been focused on product-based marketing.

He graduated cum laude from Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism with a public relations degree.
